Job Description
We are currently seeking a Senior Trade Compliance Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will drive compliance initiatives for our varied product lines and navigate the complexities of international regulations, classifications and global operations. The position requires close collaboration with in-house experts, customs brokers and internal departments to ensure visibility, accountability and efficient processes. Applicants should have extensive experience with the ACE system. The ideal candidate also possesses a strong sense of urgency, the ability to strategize solutions under deadline pressure, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
A day on the job looks like this:
- Classifying and identifying goods using the U.S. Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) and related regulatory standards while staying current on U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) updates, proposed changes and regulatory notices
- Owning and supporting cross-functional projects with minimal guidance, partnering with stakeholders to identify opportunities, implement solutions, support process optimization and appropriately escalate complex issues
- Acting as the primary point of contact for internal teams, managing shipment statuses and documentation for specialized monitoring, reporting or compliance needs
- Conducting thorough audits of customs entry declarations and maintain an ongoing percentage of required audits to ensure compliance and drive process improvement
- Supporting the development, administration and enforcement of policies and procedures that strengthen compliance levels for both imports and exports
- Updating HTS classifications as changes are implemented by the CBP and as rulings are issued for imported products
- Preparing and analyzing trade compliance data and creating reports to track key performance indicators, supporting data-driven decision-making
- Identifying and resolving customs clearance delays and compliance issues by working directly with customs brokers and relevant internal teams to ensure smooth processing
- Managing and maintaining recordkeeping for customs entry declaration, U.S. Antidumping and Countervailing Duties and other government agency requirements
- Monitoring and ensuring compliance with export controls, economic sanctions and country-specific import/export requirements for exported product
Qualifications
Got the skills and experience? Here’s what we’re looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 4+ years of import/export experience working for an import broker or a medium to large corporation
- 4+ years of experience in the field
- 2+ years of experience working in a similar position minimum
- 1+ year of experience managing people/projects minimum
- U.S. Customs Broker License is a plus
- Broad import/export knowledge, including a deep understanding of U.S. Customs regulations, HTS classifications, import duties, tariff engineering, ADD/CVD regulations, PGA requirements, plus export controls and economic sanctions
- Advanced Excel and data analysis skills
- Strategic thinker with superb analytical and problem-solving skills
- Self-starter with excellent project management and leadership skills
- Ability to collaborate across all areas of the business
- Sound judgment in routine, day-to-day decision-making with limited support from a manager
- Ability to assess problems from multiple angles and evaluate the potential implications of different solutions
- Clear and effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to provide concise updates tailored to the audience
- Active listening skills with the ability to respond openly and adjust content and delivery as needed
- Ability to work productively with individuals from diverse perspectives and backgrounds, supporting a “One Lakeshore” approach
- Consistent delivery of results under limited guidance with strong ownership of assigned work
- Determination in overcoming obstacles and setbacks
- Willingness to learn from mistakes and adapt while taking initiative to acquire and apply new knowledge and skills

At Lakeshore, we pay local market wages for employees that reside within Los Angeles and Orange Counties.
For this position, new employees joining Lakeshore who live within Los Angeles and Orange Counties are typically brought into the organization at a salary rate between $70,500-$95,500 depending on relevant experience & skillset.
This range is indicative of projected hiring range. The annual base compensation will take into account each candidate's relevant experience, location, and skillset.
