This leader will be responsible for driving predictable, scalable, and sustainable revenue performance by deepening relationships with existing customers and expanding penetration into prime vertical sub-segments. The Senior Vice President, Small-Medium Business Sales will be a data-driven leader, who uses insights to craft and execute winning commercial plays, aligning small-medium business sales, marketing, and scaled customer success initiatives with strategic growth objectives.
 
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING: 
  • Leading the transformation of the small-medium sales organization from single-solution to multi-product platform selling, developing current sales directors and their teams through coaching, capability building, and strategic enablement to drive solution-oriented customer engagement and cross-sell penetration
  • Building and executing an integrated small-medium business sales strategy, with exceptional lead forecasting and pipeline management, to expand the company’s footprint across prime markets. 
  • Scaling, mentoring, and driving a high-performing small-medium business sales organization that advances the visibility, accountability, and data-backed decision-making practices of each vertical team 
  • Partnering with Product and Marketing to refine value propositions, product positioning, competitive displacement strategies, and optimize product launch sales momentum
  • Forging deep collaboration across Product, Engineering, Marketing, Customer Success, and Finance to ensure strategy, execution, and accountability are unified throughout the small-medium business customer lifecycle
  • Building teams, grounded in collecting and reporting customer/prospect feedback, continuous messaging improvement, and who value the activities necessary for data excellence
  • Owning budgeting and planning for the small-medium business sales team

YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES IF YOU HAVE/ARE: 
  • 15+ years’ experience in high volume sales in the SaaS industry 
  • 10+ years’ experience leading and developing high performing sales leaders and individual contributors
  • Proven track record leading sales transformation initiatives from single product to multi-product platform environments, with demonstrated ability to upskill existing leaders and teams through periods of significant strategic change
  • Strategic business thinking with ability to synthesize market signals, competitive dynamics, product roadmap, and performance data into coherent go-to-market optimization strategies, and coach sales directors to develop similar strategic capabilities
  • Strong executive leadership with the ability to deliver consistent, predictable, and high-quality results as well as lead a team to do the same
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of the business by sharing insights, the root causes behind changes in KPI's, the frequency and impact of these root causes and your recommendations to double down or course correct as needed
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong business acumen, and deep understanding of cross functional business metrics impacting sales, or impacted by sales activity
  • Flexibility to meet the company's shifting priorities as needed
  • Proficiency in computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and sales software (customer relationship management, sales engagement, conversational intelligence, proposal management, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to perform in a metrics-driven, process-based environment with high accountability
  • Experience integrating new processes, teams, and customers in a highly acquisitive environment 
  • Advanced negotiation and deal-making skills in multi-product platform sales environments, with demonstrated success transitioning sales organizations from single-solution to integrated platform selling motions
  • Demonstrated success developing and elevating existing sales leadership teams into strategic commercial thinkers capable of independent go-to-market optimization and data-driven decision making
  • Strong data orientation: outstanding command of business intelligence platforms, predictive analytics, and dashboard building for executive/board consumption
  • Highly collaborative, with a track record of aligning and influencing crossfunctional teams to deliver growth related objectives
  • Inspirational change leader with exceptional communication skills, able to drive modernization, foster cohesion, and cultivate a high-performance culture at all levels 
 
IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU ALSO HAD: 
  • Human Capital Management/Worforce Management technology sales
  • Experience leading commercial organizations through platform transitions, product portfolio expansion, or significant go-to-market transformations while maintaining revenue growth
  • Track record of building leadership bench strength and developing direct reports into strategic contributors
  • MBA or related degree
  • Experience in $200M+ARR, vertical SaaS or platform companies 
 
EDUCATION REQUIRED (Minimum required)
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare, or related field 
 
SUCCESS IN THE FIRST 12 MONTHS:
  • Successfully coach and develop current sales directors to demonstrate strategic thinking, proactive go-to-market optimization, and data-driven commercial innovation
  • Lead transition from single-product to multi-product sales motions with measurable improvement in platform attach rates and cross-sell penetration
  • Establish predictable, scalable sales processes that drive consistent achievement of revenue targets across all verticals 

OFFICE REQUIREMENTS 
Relias values collaboration and wants to ensure that our team members have opportunities to work with their teams regularly for professional development opportunities.  Our flexible hybrid work environment requires that you live in the state of North Carolina, within a commutable distance to our office (~1-hour commute).  You would be expected to work in our Morrisville, NC Headquarters approximately 40 days/quarter.
