Location Requirements: Hybrid to Wayne, PA / Hybrid to Naperville, IL / Remote
Frontline Education is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our team. In this role, you’ll help build and operate the infrastructure that powers our production applications, ensuring reliability, scalability, and security across our environments. You’ll focus on systems reliability, observability, and automation, collaborating with product and DevOps teams to drive operational excellence. This role reports to the Team Lead of SRE and works closely with Development, Architecture, Product, Customer Success, Site Reliability Engineering, Data Management and Strategic Partners to deliver solutions that simplify the daily work life of the front line of education.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure availability and performance of production applications across Windows and Linux environments.
- Build and manage infrastructure using Terraform and Ansible.
- Operate and optimize containerized workloads in EKS / Kubernetes and ECS.
- Automate operational workflows, monitoring, and alerting to reduce toil and improve reliability.
- Improve observability and incident response capabilities across systems and services.
- Participate in incident response, troubleshooting, and post-incident reviews with a focus on prevention.
- Contribute to disaster recovery planning, high-availability designs, and operational standards.
Required Qualifications:
- 3–5 years of SRE, Systems, or Platform Engineering experience in a production environment.
- Strong background in both Windows and Linux systems administration.
- Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible).
- Hands-on expertise with container orchestration (Kubernetes/EKS) and ECS.
- Solid scripting or automation skills (Python, Bash, or similar).
- Familiarity with monitoring, alerting, and observability practices.
- Experience supporting production environments in a cloud-native architecture (AWS preferred).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with ArgoCD or GitOps workflows.
- Background in software development (ability to read/debug application code).
- Exposure to CI/CD tooling (awareness of how code ships, without owning pipelines).

The salary range for this role is $100,000 - $130,000 per year, based on experience, skills, and internal equity. In addition to base salary, this role includes a bonus, personalized PTO, and comprehensive benefits, including health insurance, 401k, and much more!
