POSITION SPECIFICS
Teaching and Learning with Technology (TLT) Specialists guide the exploration, development, evaluation, and/or implementation of new or experimental technology initiatives that support teaching, learning, and research; supports faculty in the effective integration of technology to enhance pedagogy, promote student engagement, and improve learning outcomes.
  • Provide consultative services to faculty, staff, and students on the effective use of emerging media technologies for teaching and learning
  • Design and maintain virtual learning environments.
  • Maintain and support learner technologies for use in instructional activities including multimedia recording and editing software and digital media equipment
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of instructional tools and strategies through research-based assessments and feedback
  • Explore and test new technologies to enhance teaching and learning
  • Evaluate proposals and work with vendors for the acquisition of products and services
  • Stay current with new technologies, trends, and pedagogical practices
  • May supervise interns or students members, including hiring, development, and performance management 

Education and Experience
This position requires an Associate's Degree. Previous relevant work experience accepted in lieu of education. Demonstration of strong customer service skills, advanced problem-solving skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, and attention to detail are essential to the success of this position.

The Smeal College of Business is seeking two experienced Teaching Studio Operations Specialists to join our team. The College currently operates three teaching studios for the remote-synchronous delivery of multiple Professional Graduate Programs, Executive Education Programs and highly interactive remote meetings. We are currently expanding our operation to add two more classroom/studio convertible spaces that will be online for Fall 2026. As key members of our support team, the individuals in these positions will join an existing team of 5 who are responsible for supporting faculty and students by operating the studio equipment from a nearby control room during live classes and sessions. The ideal candidate will have experience with technology used for instruction, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Courses meet on a non-traditional schedule throughout the entire calendar year and include workdays and hours that will frequently be outside the standard Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. hours. As a result, the hours for these positions will be flexible to include evenings and weekends as required by course schedules. This is an in-person position.
