Job Summary
The Social Media Engagement Specialist will be a customer-service dynamo to pioneer UTA’s social community management on Meta platforms (Facebook, WhatsApp, etc.), X, LinkedIn, and Reddit. You’ll be the go-to voice replying to posts and comments, building processes from scratch to address community needs, and crafting response strategies that embody our Maverick grit. Using sentiment and brand tracking, you’ll spot trends—like campus parking woes or game-day buzz—and turn them into wins. This is a trailblazing gig for someone ready to roll up their sleeves and make it happen.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Monitor and respond to comments, mentions, and posts across UTA’s social platforms in real time, delivering on-brand replies that spark connection. Create response guidelines and tone-of-voice strategies, tailoring them for Meta’s casual chats, X’s quick takes, LinkedIn’s polish, and Reddit’s depth. Tap sentiment analysis and brand tracking tools (e.g., Sprout Social, Brandwatch) to read the room, catch trending topics, and flag risks or opportunities. Share community feedback and sentiment insights with leadership, pitching ideas to sharpen our online edge. Partner with Marketing, Messaging, and Engagement, Admissions, Student Affairs, Alumni, and campus marketers to sync responses with UTA’s goals. Build and refine a process—starting from zero—to escalate community needs (e.g., student registration woes, alumni event questions) to the right teams fast. Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Associate’s degree in communications, marketing, or a related field. Two (2) years of social media or community management experience, ideally in a customer-facing role or an equivalent mix of education and relevant experience in similar role.

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or a related field. Experience using tools like Hootsuite, Sprout Social, or Brandwatch, using data to steer the ship.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Demonstrated skill in managing and engaging across multiple social media platforms (Meta, X, LinkedIn, Reddit). Ability to adapt tone, voice, and messaging style effectively to suit each platform’s unique audience and norms.
