Social Media Specialist Full Description

Position Summary:

Maintain an active institutional presence on social media through well-conceived and engaging daily content. Identify and implement creative ways to generate user content. Monitor Steinhardt- and education-related conversations across social media, including those facilitated by Steinhardt's academic departments and research centers. Coordinate the creation and updating of social media standards and resources to share across the School's faculty and administrators. Collaborate with University Donor and Alumni Relations; University Relations and Public Affairs; Steinhardt Events; and Steinhardt Marketing units/teams in sourcing and creating content for the current Steinhardt community, alumni, donors/funders, peer institutions, and prospective students.

Qualifications:

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree marketing, communications, English, creative writing, journalism, or related field.

Required Experience:
2+ years of related experience working in social media management, content creation, and reporting.

Preferred Experience:
3+ years working with third-party social media reporting platforms. Basic experience working with both audio and video files and a basic understanding of multimedia editing software.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Must be well versed in quality and accessible digital to ensure adequacy, accuracy, and legitimacy of data in NYU systems and be able to strictly follow data privacy and security procedures for data handling and analysis to ensure adherence to legal and institutional standards. Proficient with social media platforms, including but not limited to Instagram, TikTok, You Tube, LinkedIn, and Facebook. Strong understanding of analytics and measurement. Strong knowledge of video production process. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Additional Information:

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $70,000.00 to USD $77,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
