Job purpose: The Software Developer Team Lead 2 is responsible for leading a team of developers and QA as they build a product in the ClassLink family. ClassLink’s products are built on top of the AWS platform. A Software Developer Lead is also an individual contributor.

Job Summary: We are looking for a results-oriented, self-motivated Software Developer Lead who can inspire and lead a team of high performing software developers. The ideal candidate will bring a track record of building efficient and happy teams by providing technical and team leadership through coaching and mentorship.

Responsibilities:
  • Work in a fast-paced, Agile/Scrum engineering environment and deliver incremental product software with high quality.
  • Guide team development efforts towards successful project delivery by driving them to sprint commitments.
  • Provide technical leadership to teammates through coaching and mentorship.
  • Maintain high standards of software quality within the team by establishing good practices and habits.
  • Identify and encourage areas for growth and improvement within the team.
  • Collaborate with other software developers, product managers, and software architects to plan, design, develop, test, and maintain product
  • Assist in the collection and documentation of user's requirements, development of user stories, estimates and work plans.
  • Prepare reports and other documentation on the status, operation and maintenance of software include technical concept documents for key initiatives..
  • Design, develop, and unit test applications in accordance with established standards.
  • Participate in peer-reviews of solution designs and related code.
  • Package and support deployment of releases.
  • Work with teammates in the migration of legacy applications to current technologies.
  • Develop, refine, and tune integrations between applications.
  • Analyze and resolve technical and application problems.
  • Assess opportunities for application and process improvement
  • Adhere to high-quality development principles while delivering solutions on-time and on-budget.
  • Contribute as an individual contributor to development work

This role is 100% remote eligible, with quarterly strategy meetings that are in-person.

Requirements
  • 3+ years’ experience as a Software Developer Prior experience in a technical leadership position
  • Experience/knowledge of JIRA and Scrum methodology a plus
  • Proficient with Amazon Web Services, in particular EC2, S3, and RDS a plus and S.E.A.N. - SQL, Express, Angular, and Node.
  • Understanding of the fundamental technologies of the web: HTTP, SSL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and JSON
  • Be familiar with 1-2 imperatives (C/C++, Java, Javascript, C#, Python, Ruby, etc)
  • Extensive experience designing and developing enterprise grade software
  • Experience with source control management systems and continuous integration/deployment environments
  • Experience with automated testing
  • Experience with agile development methodologies including Kanban and Scrum
  • Experience with multi-threading and concurrency
  • Experience with debugging, performance profiling and optimization
  • Comprehensive understanding of object-oriented and service-oriented application development techniques and theories
  • Internally motivated, able to work proficiently both independently and in a team environment
  • Strong communication skills with both internal team members and external business stakeholders
  • Strong initiative to find ways to improve solutions, systems, and processes
  • Experience with automated testing
  • Experience with agile development methodologies
  • Experience with debugging, performance profiling and optimization
  • Internally motivated, able to work proficiently both independently and in a team environment
