Montana State University is hiring a Software Engineer for its Enterprise Services Group. The role involves analyzing business needs and user requirements, designing and developing computer programs, providing technical support, and troubleshooting enterprise systems used by the MSU four-campus system.
Highlights
- Manage software development and maintenance across multiple languages, operating systems, and applications.
- Develop and maintain ERP applications including HR, Finance, Student, and Financial Aid modules.
- Perform software life-cycle management including testing, validation, and implementation of enhancements, upgrades, and patches.
- Conduct impact analysis and evaluate upgrades for incorporation into systems.
- Gather business requirements, design system specifications, and oversee development and testing.
- Provide high-level technical consultation and problem resolution supporting internal and external customers.
- Required skills include experience with enterprise database programming (Oracle, SQL Server), programming in C++ or Java, and Linux/Unix operating systems.
- Preferred skills include source control management (GIT or Subversion), Oracle PL/SQL, GRAILS or Angular frameworks, and familiarity with Ellucian Banner in higher education.
- Salary ranges from $34.88 to $37.00 per hour based on experience and qualifications.
- The position is full-time, classified, benefits eligible, and reports to the UIT Enterprise Services Group under the VP for Information Technology.
