Software Engineer, Staff A-1 Full Description

We are seeking a Staff AI Software Engineer to design, build, test, deploy, and support AI-enabled capabilities that deliver practical business value. This role is focused on implementation: turning refined requirements into reliable, secure, and maintainable software solutions that integrate AI technologies into existing products, workflows, and enterprise systems.

The Staff AI Engineer works closely with business partners, business and enterprise analysts, product owners, engineering teams, and platform partners to understand problems, clarify requirements, validate assumptions, and deliver AI-powered features.

What you'll be doing: (Job duties and responsibilities) 

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain AI-enabled application features, integrations, services, and automation components.
  • Implement AI capabilities using approved platforms, APIs, models, orchestration patterns, and enterprise development standards.
  • Translate functional and technical requirements into working software, ensuring solutions are reliable, secure, observable, and supportable in production.
  • Build and integrate AI-driven capabilities such as generative AI experiences, agent-based workflows, document intelligence, natural language interfaces, and decision-support features.
  • Connect AI components with enterprise applications, data sources, APIs, identity services, logging, monitoring, and operational workflows.
  • Support rapid experimentation while applying sound engineering practices to move viable prototypes into production-ready implementations.
  • Engage directly with business partners and analysts to understand business needs, clarify acceptance criteria, identify edge cases, and refine requirements into implementable user stories.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, backlog refinement, planning, demos, and feedback sessions to ensure delivered functionality aligns with business outcomes.
  • Write clean, maintainable, testable code and participate in peer reviews, troubleshooting, debugging, and performance tuning.

  • Improve delivered solutions based on user feedback, production metrics, operational issues, and evolving business priorities.
  • Contribute reusable components, implementation patterns, technical documentation, and lessons learned for AI solution delivery.
  • Stay current with practical AI development tools, platform capabilities, engineering practices, and responsible AI guidance relevant to enterprise delivery.
  • Implement solutions with appropriate attention to responsible AI principles, including explainability, bias awareness, data protection, security, user transparency, human oversight, and operational controls in line with enterprise standards.

  

What we'll want you to have: (Job requirements and preferences) 

  • 2+ years of experience in software engineering, application development, or related technical delivery roles.
  • Experience implementing production software in an Agile or product-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering AI-enabled, data-driven, automation, integration, or workflow solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with modern programming languages, APIs, cloud services, CI/CD practices, automated testing, and production support.
  • Working knowledge of AI technologies such as generative AI, ML services, prompt orchestration, retrieval patterns, agents, embeddings, or model integration.
  • Ability to understand implementation trade-offs and build pragmatic, supportable solutions within established architectural and enterprise guardrails.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly with business partners, analysts, product owners, engineers, and support teams.
  • Proficient in C# .NET.
  • Ability to deliver work that meets all minimum standards for quality, security and operability.
