Posting Summary | Under the guidance of the Senior Associate and Sr. Assistant Directors, the Assistant Director assists in developing and implementing strategic undergraduate recruitment initiatives that support the University of Vermont’s enrollment goals across first-year, transfer, and international student populations. The position manages a domestic recruitment territory focused on strategic growth markets, coordinates transfer recruitment and engagement initiatives, and supports recruitment through virtual outreach, application review, and relationship management within assigned regions.
Representing the University at recruitment events, high schools, community colleges, and virtual programs, the Assistant Director provides individualized guidance to prospective students and families throughout the admissions process, conducts holistic application review, and collaborates with campus partners to advance enrollment objectives. The successful candidate utilizes data-informed recruitment strategies to cultivate relationships, strengthen enrollment pipelines, and contribute to the recruitment of a talented and diverse student body.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience) | Bachelor’s degree and two to four years related experience at either the student or professional level in college admissions or related campus-based work environment required. Demonstrated multicultural competency required. Effective organizational and project management skills, communication skills, both written and verbal required. Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications required. A valid driver’s license is required.
Desirable Qualifications
Experience working with a CRM system (e.g., Slate, Salesforce, TargetX, or similar). Demonstrated success in outreach, relationship building, partnership development, and achieving recruitment or enrollment goals. Experience working with and serving diverse student populations, including transfer, international, adult, military-affiliated, first-generation, and other non-traditional students. Experience building relationships with community colleges or other educational and community partners.
Anticipated Pay Range | $54,000 to $56,000
