About the Role:
The Atypon product team within Wiley Research is seeking a driven and innovative product leader for our Publishing Product and Platforms team.
Our team is focused on delivering digital products that anticipate and address the rapidly evolving needs of scholarly, academic, and commercial publishers. This is an opportunity to lead product management for Wiley's Atypon Experience Platform, on which over 50% of the world’s English language research is published. As part of this responsibility, you will work to grow the number of interactions with Atypon Experience Platform, generating scale that ties into our exciting plans to connect audiences with partners and driving platform innovation and future customer needs, such as Generative AI workflows and product strategies.
How you will make an impact:
Strategic Planning
- Create, curate, and drive the product roadmap for Atypon.
- Collaborate with Product Managers across Partner Solutions to define strategic product vision and roadmaps to deliver upon strategy.
- Lead a team of product managers who are responsible for Atypon, its user experience, and its admin tools.
- Engage with customers to develop insights and feedback loops to inform product roadmaps. Present product roadmap, results, and analysis to Wiley executives, partner solutions, customers, and others.
- Partner with business stakeholders, product managers, and customers to develop innovative future-facing products and feature needs.
- Partner with delivery and operations colleagues, engineering colleagues, and product management colleagues to ensure efficient operation and release of products across Product and Platforms.
Technical Leadership
- Work closely with engineering teams to solve and develop core platform value that customers can easily use to implement and self-serve.
- Identify technical trends in the market and how they might be incorporated into our platform or how we can leverage them to support customers.
Stakeholder Management
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to align the product vision with organizational goals and customer needs.
- Facilitate cross-functional team collaborations, especially with delivery teams, software engineers, and other product managers.
- Alignment between user needs, technology development, and our product aspirations.
- Drive industry connections with current and possible customers, staying on top of trends and evolving standards in the market.
Product Development & Testing
- Manage the complete product life cycle, from ideation to launch, and evaluation.
- Conduct A/B testing and user interviews to validate assumptions and improve features.
- Optimized and market-tested product features characterized by their robustness, user-centricity, and alignment with market needs.
What we look for:
- Proven experience in product management of scholarly publishing workflow products
- Experience leading strategy development across a suite of products within the publishing industry and academic publishing.
- Required Skills, Knowledge and Characteristics
- Deep understanding of research assessment user needs and technology opportunities
- Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
- Strong analytic skills, comfortable with A/B testing and data-driven decision-making.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills
- Bachelor's degree

We are committed to fair, transparent pay, and we strive to provide competitive compensation in addition to a comprehensive benefits package. The range below represents Wiley's good faith and reasonable estimate of the base pay for this role at the time of posting roles either in the United Kingdom, Canada or USA. It is anticipated that most qualified candidates will fall within the range, however the ultimate salary offered for this role may be higher or lower and will be set based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to, geographic location, skills, and competencies.
