Job Title: Sr. Instructional Systems Designer
Type: Full-Time
Location: Customer is in Vienna, VA with a hybrid work model of at least 3 days in the office. Candidates MUST already reside in the Washington D.C., Maryland, or Virginia area.
Summary
Weris is seeking a Senior Instructional Systems Designer (ISD) who will work directly with office staff to lead or support course or workshop planning and design and development. The Sr. Instructional Systems Designer will also support course project/program management in collaboration with the Training Program Manager (TPM).
Essential Duties & Responsibilities (including but not limited to)
· Lead and contribute to the design, development, and enhancement of training courses and workshops.
· Conduct training needs assessments and gap analyses to inform learning solutions.
· Develop and manage project plans, course development documentation, timelines, and priorities.
· Design learner-centered training programs based on adult learning principles across multiple delivery formats, including instructor-led, virtual, online, and blended learning.
· Develop, review, and maintain instructional materials, including facilitator guides, participant materials, assessments, and supporting resources.
· Participate in pilot sessions, evaluate feedback, and implement improvements.
· Monitor course quality, track project progress, and provide status reports to stakeholders.
· Ensure all materials adhere to customer style guide, accepted Instructional Systems Design methods, and adult learning theories.
· Evaluate course materials for conformance with accessibility according to Section 508 of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 508 requirements.
· Ensure training content functions effectively within learning management systems (LMS).
Qualifications – Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Master's degree in Instructional Design, Education, or related field.
· 10 years of experience in a training development organization or consulting environment.
· Proficiency with Blackboard LMS
· Demonstrated experience using development tools, such as Adobe Creative Suite or Articulate 360.
· Excellent project management and organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
· Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to effectively convey technical information to non-technical colleagues and clients
· Critical thinking skills
· Ability to prioritize and manage multiple simultaneous deadlines
· Ability to work in a collaborative environment
