Sr. Learning & Organizational Development Consultant
The Senior Organizational Development Consultant is a strategic advisor, coach, and thought partner to senior leaders, helping them deepen their leadership effectiveness and elevate organizational performance. Working in a complex healthcare environment, this role builds deep, trust-based relationships with executives, physicians, and leaders by combining credibility, discretion, and strong business acumen with practical organizational development expertise.
The Consultant partners closely with leaders to navigate change, strengthen leadership capability, and address organizational challenges in ways that are actionable, sustainable, and leader-owned. Through coaching, facilitation, and targeted development strategies, this role supports leaders in addressing complexity and translating strategy into meaningful results for their teams and the organization.
Major Responsibilities/Essential Functions
1. Works closely with VPs, Directors, and stakeholders to plan and implement change, leadership development, engagement and succession projects and strategies to help realize the strategic plan of the organization.
2. Serve as a trusted thought partner and advisor to senior leaders and executives, building deep consulting relationships grounded in credibility, discretion, and business acumen.
3. Apply a consultative change management approach to support leaders through major initiatives, integrating models (e.g., ADKAR or similar) into practical, leader-owned actions.
4. Develops and facilitates individual, team and organizational assessments (e.g., employee engagement, climate, 360-degree feedback, leadership style, MBTI, change readiness) to identify strengths and gaps. Partners with leaders at all levels to develop and implement strategies for closing gaps (e.g., change management, team building, strategic planning) to improve performance and support business objectives.
5. Analyzes, formulates, facilitates, and deploys team and organizational effectiveness and change leadership programs and processes.
6. Provides coaching and feedback to staff and leadership at all levels to enhance performance; provides expert group facilitation and effectively leads group interventions.
7. Designs and implements development tools and strategies (e.g., training, experience management, mentoring, e-learning, succession planning) to improve performance in support of business objectives.
8. Represents Georgia Region in national work teams and initiatives as appropriate.
9. Measures and reinforces impact on the program using a variety of methods (i.e., surveys, testing, observation) to demonstrate impact and return on investment. Reports results to executive leadership.
Minimum Education
- Master’s Degree of equivalent experience
Preferred Education
- Master’s Degree in Business/OD or PhD in Organizational Psychology
Minimum Work Experience and Qualifications
- 6-10+ years of progressive experience in organizational development, management consulting, or internal consulting, with a demonstrated focus on advising senior leaders and executive teams.
- Demonstrated expertise in learning and organizational development principles and methodologies (e.g., adult learning principles, instructional design, competency modeling, development planning, leadership assessments, mentoring, coaching, leadership development, team development, and change management).
- 5 years’ coaching/development experience with strong track record of coaching individuals and teams.
- Outstanding facilitation and presentation skills; minimum of 5 years’ experience delivering leadership training.
- Excellent leadership and influence skills; demonstrated consultation skills and ability to effectively manage client relationships
- Proficient computer/technical skills; demonstrated experience with reporting and presentation tools
Preferred Work Experience and Qualifications
- 5+ years of individual and teams coaching experience and experience in implementation of leadership programs.
- 5+ years of experience delivering training to leaders at all levels including senior management
- Training/OD certifications (e.g., Franklin Covey, MBTI, 360-degree feedback, change management, coaching, consulting).
- ICF Professional Certified Coach (PCC) credentials
- Instructional design certification/degree; virtual learning/e-learning knowledge and experience.
- Healthcare consulting experience.
