GENERAL PURPOSE
The Senior Manager of Learning & Development is responsible for developing a learning organization capable of delivering value via education and training to sales, customers and customer-facing associates, through industry knowledge, technology, key applications, use cases, target audiences, and product solutions. This highly collaborative individual must be skilled in managing and leading cross-functional project teams across Legrand | AV to better understand internal/external pain points, strategies and desired outcomes. This includes translating those into effective learning products and experiences that lead to measurable increased adoption, loyalty and satisfaction of customers and increased sales team success. A critical component of this role is the strategic integration of technology to enhance learning delivery—leveraging digital platforms, tools, and analytics to create scalable, personalized, and data-informed learning experiences. This role will report to the VP of Sales Enablement.
DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Create, articulate and execute the strategy, vision and roadmap for continued development of both customer-facing and sales team-facing learning and development.
- Using internal/external input, create business justification for new learning and development products, obtain funding, senior management approval, timeline and coordinate the necessary technical and operational resources within AVD
- Accountable for overall AVD learning experience budget with the expectation to use dollars strategically to accomplish business goals while meeting annual budget expectations.
- Prioritize opportunities based on sales team/customer needs and business objectives.
- Work closely with Marketing to:
- Develop learning and development customer education strategies and roadmaps.
- Ensure goals are agreed upon and priorities are established.
- Design, develop, and evaluate customer learning and development products.
- Maintain ownership of curriculum, content, delivery, certification, and learning tools. Curriculum tracks will be based on audience and skill/knowledge, while content creation and authoring into LMS will support the curriculum.
- Build the necessary processes and workflows to ensure learning and development solutions are deployed effectively and efficiently.
- Develop comprehensive assessments to tracking individual and group progression through the learning tracks to identify opportunities and trends; ability to build assessments to specifically identify skill sets and competencies of specific subject matter; Leverage assessment data to regularly evaluate the comprehensiveness of courses to identify gaps; Develop regular reporting to Executives on progression of users through the modules and specific trends/findings.
- Drive consistency across brands so sales team/customers have a streamlined experience regardless of brand; coordinate with LNCA to ensure alignment and overall Legrand efficiencies.
- Demonstrate strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate Learning & Development concepts and strategies clearly and persuasively across different audiences.
- Evangelize training at customer calls, tradeshows and other showcase opportunities.
- Continuously survey and analyze industry landscape, emerging technologies and customer demand, keeping abreast of industry benchmarks and relevant metrics. Conduct ongoing needs analysis to stay on top of needs in the field.
- Onboard and develop those new to the field and inside sales team company, and assist in making sellers the Sales Organization more effective by delivering a clear and concise value proposition, including up-to-date industry & technology trends, competitive positioning information & sales best practices for specific Middle Atlantic Products and other solutions and product lines available through Legrand AV.
- Be accessible to team members to work through customer and internal issues.
Leadership:
- Effectively lead, develop, and inspire direct team members and collaborative partners
- Responsible for all aspects of performance management including interviewing, hiring, training, performance evaluations, and recognition.
- Provide effective, constructive and appropriate feedback and leadership to direct reports to foster positive team atmosphere; ensures personal and professional development of direct reports.
- Initiate and assist with the creation, development, and implementation of processes and procedures.
- Consistently support compliance by maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of information, protecting the assets of the organization, acting with ethics and integrity, reporting non-compliance, and adhering to applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations, and the Company’s policies and procedures.
- Understand workplace hazards and take steps to proactively prevent and report hazards or injuries in the workplace. Cooperate in Safety Programs, initiatives, and investigations.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Demonstrated ability to affectively lead cross-functional teams and manage core group of learning and development professionals (instructional designers, LMS administrators, project managers, etc.)
- Excellent understanding of training, instructional design and learning theory.
- 8+ years experience designing, developing, and providing e-learning and Instructor Led Training (ILT)
- Ability to leverage creative, analytical, communication and problem-solving skills to enhance Legrand AV’s course offerings.
- Excellent project management, planning, and organizational skills with the ability to effectively manage several projects at one time while providing high attention to details and excellent follow-through skills
- Ability to define a L&D strategy for a 3-year horizon that improves the company’s ability to achieve business goals.
- Outstanding listening, comprehension and clear, concise and grammatically sound oral and written communication skills.
- Strong decision-making skills and action-orientation.
- Demonstrated ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues, by using judgment that is consistent with standards, practices, policies and procedures
- Ability to demonstrate flexible and efficient time management and to appropriately prioritize workload based upon organization or department needs.
- Positive, energetic attitude, and initiative; Strong work ethic.
- Able to work comfortably in hands-on, multi-task, deadline-driven environment.

Minimum Education and Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of leading a learning and development team or managing a team of direct reports; or combination of relevant education and experience.
Special Job Requirements:
- Ability to work flexible hours as needed – particularly at planned sales and customer meetings
Preferred Qualifications:
- Understanding of Legrand | AV products and AV industry.
- Experience leading Organization Development initiatives including those involving coaching, mentoring, and team intervention.
- Learning technique experience & proficiency
- Include bullet regarding Sales Enablement certification / experience
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required (for the majority of the working day) to sit and make coordinated movements of the fingers for data entry on a keyboard. Duties will occasionally require the employee to be able to reach above shoulder level, reach below knee level, bend, stoop, squat/kneel; and lift, push or pull up to 50 pounds.

- Long-distance or air travel as needed – not to exceed 10% travel.
