What You’ll Do:
As a State Systems Specialist, you will:
- Maintain Financial Records: Accurately manage and update clients’ legal or replica records in state systems.
- Support Budgeting: Balance annual budgets and forecasts while ensuring alignment with state regulations.
- Manage Funding: Track State and Federal funding receipts and oversee the drawdown process.
- Act as a Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact between charter schools, departments of education, and internal teams.
- Ensure Compliance: Monitor for financial non-compliance and proactively raise alerts.
- Reconcile Records: Assist in mapping and reconciling state and client charts of accounts.
- Stay Current: Complete annual training and certifications from governing entities to stay updated with regulatory changes.
- Communicate Clearly: Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure understanding of financial and compliance matters.
- Deliver with Precision: Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of your work.
What We’re Looking For:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience: Demonstratable experience in accounting or a related field; bookkeeping experience is a plus.

- Strong accounting knowledge and financial acumen.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Customer-focused mindset with the ability to build strong relationships.

Compensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location. As required by the California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York State, New York City, Washington State, and Washington DC laws, the pay range for this position is as follows:
The full-time salary range is between $65,000 - $72,000.
