Job Summary/Basic Function: | The Dayton Regional STEM School seeks a highly motivated individual to serve as school counselor for the K-5 elementary school.
Minimum Qualifications | Master’s Degree completed by August 1, 2026 Licensed School Counselor in Ohio or able to obtain alternative license by August 1, 2026 Excellent written and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications | Two or more years experience as an elementary school counselor
Essential Functions and percent of time: | Academic – 40%
• Conduct Individual meetings with students and parents
• Prepare and deliver classroom lessons based on determined needs
• Participate in team meetings with teachers
Individual and Small Group Counseling – 30%
• Conduct individual counseling with students/parents
• Serve as consultant to teachers and other staff members
• Plan and lead small group counseling sessions
Administrative Support and Program Development – 15%
Testing and Analysis – 10%
• Support the administrators with organization and administration of state and other standardized testing
Professional/Program Development – 5%
• Pursue continuous growth through attendance at regional conferences; read professional journals; take post-graduate courses
• In conjunction with the middle and high school counselors and administration, plan and evaluate the school counseling program, grades K-12

Working Conditions | Length of contract is one year contingent upon funding. Special contract terms and conditions of employment apply.
This position is State Teachers Retirement System (STRS) eligible.
