| Essential Job Functions | The North Carolina General Assembly established theUniversity of North Carolina System Laboratory School initiative to provide enhanced educational programming to improve student performance and to plan demonstration sites to prepare future teachers and school administrators. Appalachian State University operates the App State Academy at Middle Fork. The STEM teacher will plan, organize, and implement an appropriate STEM instructional program that encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential. The teacher will provide a broad range of teaching services that assist elementary students to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed as a foundation for future interests and/or careers.
