About Us: 
The Role
The Strategic Plan Project Manager will support the implementation of the medical school’s strategic plan by providing end-to-end project management of the plan and targeted support for priority initiatives. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring a portfolio of strategic initiatives to ensure alignment with institutional goals, timelines, and resources.
The Project Manager will work closely with faculty, administrative leaders, and cross-functional teams to translate strategic priorities into actionable plans, ensuring effective execution and measurable outcomes. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Strategic Plan Implementation & Portfolio Management
  • Supports the operationalization of the medical school’s strategic plan by translating strategic priorities into defined projects, milestones, and deliverables
  • Manages a portfolio of strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with institutional goals and tracking progress across initiatives
  • Develops and maintains portfolio- and initiative-level dashboards, reports, and performance metrics
Project Management (Full Lifecycle)
  • Leads projects from initiation through planning, execution, monitoring, and closeout in accordance with project management best practices 
  • Develops comprehensive project plans, including scope, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation 
  • Defines project objectives, deliverables, success metrics, and governance structures
  • Ensures projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget
Support for Strategic Initiatives
  • Provides hands-on project management support for selected high-priority initiatives 
  • Assists initiative leads with planning, coordination, and execution of project activities
  • Facilitates cross-functional collaboration among faculty, clinicians, administrators, and external partners
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
  • Serves as a central point of coordination across stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment
  • Develops and delivers regular status reports, executive briefings, and presentations
  • Sets up planning team meetings, and steering committee meetings and plans retreats
  • Manages stakeholder expectations and escalates risks or issues as needed 
Process Improvement & Change Management
  • Identifies and supports implementation of opportunities for continuous quality improvement across projects and processes 
  • Promotes standard project management methodologies and tools 
  • Supports change management efforts to facilitate adoption of strategic initiatives
Monitoring, Metrics, Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintains comprehensive project documentation, including charters, plans, and status reports 
  • Maintains, monitors and reports on key performance indicators and outcomes tracked via dashboards, scorecards and tracking tools at both overall strategic plan and individual initiative levels
  • Prepares regular progress reports, briefings and summaries for senior leadership, governance bodies, and accreditation-relevant audiences
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in healthcare administration, public health, business, or related field preferred
  • 5+ years of project management experience, preferably in academic medicine, health care or higher education
  • Experience managing complex, cross-functional projects and multiple stakeholders
Certifications (Preferred)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification (PMI)
  • Change management certification is a plus
 Maximum Salary Range: USD $125,000.00/Yr.
