Student Funding Specialist
Finance - Columbia, Maryland (Hybrid)
We are seeking a detail-oriented and student-focused Funding Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with the Admissions team to guide prospective students through the educational financing process. You will serve as a trusted resource, ensuring students understand their funding options and successfully complete all required steps to secure financial support for their education.

Responsibilities:
- Partner with Admissions Advisors to support prospective students through the financing process, from initial discussion to securing funding.
- Provide guidance on available financing options (e.g., payment plans, third-party financing, loans) in compliance with applicable regulations and internal policies.
- Assist students in completing applications and submitting required documentation accurately and on time.
- Review and verify funding applications for completeness and compliance with institutional and lender requirements.
- Communicate regularly with students to address questions, resolve issues, and ensure progress toward enrollment.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in the student information system to track funding status and timelines.
- Collaborate with internal teams (Admissions, Finance, Student Services) to ensure a seamless onboarding experience for students.
- Stay informed on industry regulations and best practices related to educational financing and compliance requirements.
Experience/ Skills Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Education, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 1+ year of experience in student services, financial aid, banking, or a related customer-facing financial role.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to explain complex information clearly.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in managing sensitive documentation.
- Proficiency with Google Workplace and ability to learn new systems quickly.
Preferred:
- Experience working in education or with student loan/financing programs.
- Familiarity with compliance standards for educational financing.
- Salesforce Platform experience
