The Specialist collaborates with school administrators, counselors, teachers, and IT personnel to ensure PowerSchool effectively supports instructional and operational needs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:   
PowerSchool Administration & Support
  • Serve as the district's lead PowerSchool administrator, managing communicating configuration, user accounts, security permissions, and system updates.
  • Troubleshoot PowerSchool issues, coordinate with vendors and

Data Management & Reporting
  • Maintain the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of all student information within PowerSchool.
  • Prepare and submit required state and federal data collections (e.g., EMIS or state‑specific reporting).
  • Develop and maintain custom data reports, dashboards, and extracts for district leadership.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with FERPA and district data governance policies.
Training & End‑User Support
  • Provide ongoing training and support for school staff, including counselors, teachers, and administrators.
  • Create user guides, documentation, and training materials to support consistent data entry practices.
  • Offer one‑on‑one and group training sessions to improve staff proficiency with PowerSchool.
System Optimization & Process Improvement
  • Analyze district workflows and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and data accuracy.
  • Collaborate with IT and instructional teams to integrate PowerSchool with third‑party systems
  • Monitor system performance and proactively identify opportunities for enhancement.
Collaboration & Communication
  • Act as a liaison between departments and the national teams regarding student data needs.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 3+ years of hands‑on experience with PowerSchool (administration, data management, or reporting).
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Education, Data Management, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of student data systems, data privacy laws, and reporting requirements.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets, data analysis tools, and report creation.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to train non‑technical users.
Certificates and Licenses: None Required

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  
  • Experience in a K-12 school district environment.
  • Familiarity with state reporting systems (e.g., EMIS or equivalent).
  • Experience with SQL, data imports/exports, or API integrations.
  • Knowledge of related systems such as SchoolMessenger, Clever, or LMS platforms.
Compensation & Benefits: Stride, Inc. considers a person's education, experience, and qualifications, as well as the position's work location, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value when determining a new employee's salary level.  Salaries will differ based on these factors, the position's level and expected contribution, and the employee's benefits elections. 
  • We anticipate the annual salary of this role to be between $52,334.00 - $65,418.00. Eligible employees may receive a bonus. This rate is not guaranteed, as an individual's compensation can vary based on several factors. These factors include, but are not limited to, geographic location, experience, training, education, and local market conditions.
