Job Summary/Basic Function
Job Description
The Student Marketing Manager is responsible for providing marketing support to the Office of Mentoring Programs. This individual will work to support our mentoring initiatives with its marketing efforts including but not limited to: creating marketing materials, managing social media accounts, managing website and edits, and facilitating class presentations & tabling to recruit. They may also assist our office with event planning as needed. This role has a greater emphasis on social media presence and helping our office reach goals for participation and commitment from the students it serves. This individual will be critical in helping our office foster a greater culture of mentoring across campus and connecting new students to our office. The individual will report to the Faculty & Staff Mentoring Coordinator within the office.

Duties
  • Lead the office’s social media accounts by creating engaging content to promote mentoring programs’ initiatives & events as well as maintaining the programs’ websites updated.
  • Create marketing materials such as posters, flyers and brochures for the office’s programming and recruitment efforts for new mentees and mentors. Actively distribute across campus.
  • Coordinate program outreach by arranging and participating in class presentations, tabling opportunities, promotional emails, collaborating with other programs, supporting programming/events, and attending high school events when appropriate
  • Take a lead role in facilitating drawings and promotional materials for the Office of Mentoring Programs
  • Support the office’s creation of effective strategies to increase program participation and attendance at events
  • Lead our office’s newsletter which provides mentors and mentees key information on monthly programming and mentoring/ research highlights
  • Take lead on organizing marketing materials and tasks in an efficient manner
Required Qualifications
2.5 GPA or above
Full Time student (minimum of 12 credits or as required by graduate program)
Experience using MS word, Excel, Google suite, or other basic software platforms
Experience with creating marketing materials and use of Adobe platforms and/ or Canva
Proficient verbal and written communication skills
Works independently and/or cooperatively on multiple projects as part of a team
Able to demonstrate dependability & effective time & project management
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with management of social media
Outgoing personality and can easily engage with students
FASFA/Work study eligible
Has experience with outreach efforts and public speaking
