Job Description:

Watts College of Public Service and Community Solutions seeks an enthusiastic, service-oriented professional to join our recruitment team. This role serves as a primary liaison between prospective undergraduate students and Watts College, supporting outreach, engagement, and enrollment efforts across multiple campuses and recruitment events.

Under general supervision, the Student Recruitment Coordinator connects with prospective students and their families through in-person meetings, phone calls, virtual engagement, and email communications. This role represents Watts College primarily at ASU's Downtown Phoenix Campus, while also participating in recruitment activities across ASU campuses and at in-state and out-of-state events.


This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy public speaking, are strong communicators, and can work both independently and collaboratively to achieve goals while inspiring the next generation of public service professionals.

Essential Duties:

  • Develop, coordinate, and implement strategic recruitment plans for undergraduate and/or graduate students aligned with college and university goals.

  • Plan and execute recruitment programs, events, campus tours, workshops, presentations, interactive activities, and virtual engagements; assess effectiveness and recommend improvements.

  • Serve as primary point of contact for prospective students and families; provide timely guidance on admissions, registration, financial aid, student resources, and academic programs.

  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with faculty, staff, alumni, community organizations, high schools, community colleges, and businesses to support recruitment efforts.

  • Represent the college/department at local and statewide events, seminars, conferences, and on university committees.

  • Collaborate with academic and administrative units to support student success and achieve enrollment goals.

  • Develop and distribute recruitment materials and communications; assist with presentation redesign and engagement strategies.

  • Utilize PeopleSoft, CRM Salesforce to track outreach, maintain accurate records, monitor prospective students.

  • Provide event and office support, including responding to inquiries, managing communications, preparing materials, and coordinating logistics.

  • Conduct presentations and one-on-one outreach calls using student-centered storytelling to engage and support prospective students.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned; occasional evenings and weekends required.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bilingual proficiency in English and a second language; Spanish preferred.

  • Experience in student recruitment, admissions practices, academic advising, retention, or related student support services.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver group presentations to diverse audiences.

  • Experience coordinating events, programs, and recruitment campaigns.

  • Strong organizational, time management, and strategic planning skills with the ability to support data-informed decision-making.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and experience with CRM systems such as Salesforce and PeopleSoft.

  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and present materials to audiences.

Working Environment:

  • Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and manipulating a computer mouse.

  • Required to stand for varying lengths of time, and walk moderate distances to perform work.

  • Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds.

  • Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts.

  • Communicate to perform essential functions of the job.

  • Use standard office equipment including, but not limited to: computer workstation/laptop (keyboard, monitor, mouse), printer, fax, calculator, copier, telephone and associated computer/technology peripherals.

  • This position receives semi-annual managerial review of objectives.

  • Work extended hours, including evening and/or weekends, as needed.
