Pay Range Information | Chapman University is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this position. This range takes into account a variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Salary offers are determined based on the final candidate’s qualifications and experience, as well as internal equity and other internal factors. The anticipated pay range is not a promise of a particular wage.

Position Summary Information
Job Description Summary | Undergraduate research assistant will perform and conduct independent laboratory work including but not limited to protein characterization and functionality studies, sunflower protein isolation, and LC-MS analysis.
Responsibilities | Conduct laboratory work Food chemical analysis of sunflower proteins including: Sunflower protein isolation and functionality Fluorescence analysis LC-MS analysis Communicate findings orally and in written format Characterization of a chlorogenic acid esterase in sunflower protein solutions. Routine tasks related to maintaining lab safety, records, as well as ordering supplies.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications | Currently pursing B.S. studies Experience conducting laboratory work. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Prior research experience. Ability to perform duties independently and with little direction. Strong analytical and computational skills. Ability to collaborate with Principal Investigator and other researchers. Ability to conduct experiments in a timely manner and accurately record data. Ability to operate laboratory equipment and maintain a safe working environment.
