Will work directly with program directors in planning and organizing the academic course scheduling. Advises the faculty and students of guidelines and policies within the various programs including procedures, special clearances, program forms, course curriculum and scheduling etc.

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in a job related field and 2 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.

  • Must have excellent working knowledge of university academic calendars, student curriculum issues, and of university administration and systems.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Knowledge of USC policies and procedures related to student information, grading, and course curriculum.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Dropbox, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Familiarity with USC systems such as Banner, Class Climate, and Data Warehouse, or willingness to complete training upon hire.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of constituents and the general public.

Works directly with the assistant department chair and all program directors in planning and organizing the course scheduling: prepare correspondence on curriculum and courses for program directors. Advises the faculty and students of guidelines and policies within the various programs and resolves and/or directs faculty, students and outside inquiries to appropriate personnel. Enter the course schedule information into the university scheduling system for 250-300 courses for total department enrollment of 6,000 – 7,000 students. Update schedule and enrollments daily, including keeping an up to date version in an accessible shared digital folder. Provide the spreadsheet detailing faculty course loads and course array for the department as required by the Dean’s office. Coordinate classroom space with Space and Scheduling and assign rooms to faculty.
