Created in 2024, the Office of Student Success and Testing Services is dedicated to empowering students and the community we serve throughout their educational journey. Position Overview

The Student Services Coordinator plays a key role in supporting student success and persistence at UNT Dallas. This position collaborates with academic advising, tutoring and supplemental instruction, first-year seminar, enrollment management, student affairs, and mentoring/coaching programs to help students navigate their college experience and achieve their academic goals. The Coordinator manages a caseload of students requiring additional support and contributes to key campus initiatives such as peer coaching for first-time-in-college students and early alert interventions. The role also involves developing and implementing programs that promote academic self-management, student engagement, and preparation for post-graduation pathways such as graduate/professional school or the workforce. The Coordinator uses EAB Navigate to track student progress, manage cases, and facilitate communication and referrals.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in related field and three years of student services, student affairs, counseling, advising or related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated experience related to the administration and support of student services programming.
  • Strong presentation skills, problem solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively to a wide range of individuals.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to work independently with accuracy and attention to detail and follow instructions without close supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, work under pressure, prioritize and meet deadlines with overlapping projects.
  • Demonstrate a high level of customer service.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree and 1 year of experience in higher education

Job Duties

  • Assists with FAFSA completion.
  • Works closely with Academic Advising, Admissions, Registrar, and Financial aid office to assist students with enrollment processes.
  • Assists with College Access and Outreach efforts for incoming UNTD Dallas students.
  • Provides ongoing coaching for first time in college students (FTIC).
  • Keeps student engagement by providing information about student activities and organizations.
  • Regularly follows up (via phone, email, text communication) with students for retention and student success.
  • Communicates with students campus events.
  • Teaches students to selfnavigate campus resources.
  • Fills out and assists students with completing academic forms and documents.
  • Maintains electronic and physical records of prospective and currently enrolled UNT Dallas students to support data reports.
  • Effectively manages security sensitive/confidential information.
  • Provides general information regarding Services to current and prospective UNT Dallas Campus advisees.
  • Sets student appointments Creates and manages files/folders.
