Primary Purpose of Position
Primary purpose of the position is to undertake activities that improve student academic, social and emotional development. This includes managing, promoting, and leading activities in areas of recruitment, admissions, orientation, registration and retention of student.
Primary Function of Organizational Unit
North Carolina A&T State University is a public, doctoral high research land-grant University that enrolls over 15,000 students. The University is a learner-centered community that develops and preserves intellectual capital through interdisciplinary learning, discovery, engagement, and operational excellence.

The College of Engineering, with over 2,500 students, has EAC ABET accredited undergraduate programs in Architectural, Bio-, Biological, Civil, Chemical, Computer, Electrical, Industrial, and Mechanical Engineering, as well as a CAC ABET-accredited program in Computer Science. On the Graduate level, the College has 8 Masters of Science Degree programs, and 5 Doctoral programs distributed across its seven departments. The five research cluster areas of the College of Engineering (COE) are Autonomous Systems, Cybersecurity and Resilience, Energy and Sustainability, Healthcare Applications and Complex Systems and Networks; where the COE welcomes faculty dedicated to engaged teaching, innovative research, and who thrive in an environment that embraces diversity and inclusion within the student body, faculty, and staff. The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering is one of the largest departments in the College of Engineering. The four programs are a BS in electrical engineering, a BS in computer engineering, an MS in electrical engineering, and a Ph.D. in electrical engineering.   • Establish guidelines for students to enhance their performance and retention in their programs at the Electrical & Computer Engineering Department.
  • Develop programs with acceptable outcome levels for student development.
  • Review work of student workers and staff upon completion to assess and solve problems.
  • Review accomplishments of the Electrical & Computer Engineering student services unit over a short-range period to ensure that performance and service meet the required standards.

  • Coordinate and administer undergraduate students’ professional and social activities for their retention and timely graduation.
