Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated professional to join our Educational Opportunity Center (EOC) team. Reporting to the Associate Director of EOC, this position will be part of a five-year, grant-funded program focused on supporting income-eligible, first-generation, and adult learners as they pursue higher education and new opportunities.
Job Duties:
This position reports to the Associate Director of EOC and will work within a funded 5-year grant to serve income-eligible, first-generation, adult learners. The primary job duties and responsibilities include:
- Assist in the identification, recruitment, and selection of eligible EOC participants
- Provide academic coaching and career coaching to EOC program participants
- Present financial literacy workshops and provide support through the financial aid process
- Assist program participants with scholarship searches and applications
- Coordinate outreach with campus and community partners.
- Act as a liaison between program participants and education partners, as needed
- Provide guidance in post-secondary school entry and entry into a GED program
- Maintain proper documentation of program participants.
- Assist program participants with the necessary paperwork to pursue educational goals.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in counseling, Student Affairs, Education, Social Science, or related field and 1 year of related experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; excellent organizational skills; proficiency with computer applications, including Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- The preferred candidate will also possess experience in educational opportunity programs and demonstrated ability to support the success of at-risk adult learners and students from diverse and underserved backgrounds, including minority, low-income, first-generation students, and students with disabilities.
