Overview:
This position is a supervisory role in the Technical Development and Improvement organization and contributes to PPL EU success by (1) supervising the team responsible for Instructional Design and by (2) consulting with internal customers to diagnose work inefficiencies and design solutions to improve performance across PPL EU. This role consults with the business to oversee the diagnosis of issues from everyday common errors to process breakdowns, and to create solutions to enhance employee and procedural performance.
Responsibilities:
Essential Functions
- Leads a team that engages with stakeholders and subject matter experts to investigate, research, and diagnose work performance issues using standard techniques (i.e. task analysis, process mapping, gap analysis).Consults with subject matter experts and stakeholders. Communicates issues that cannot be solved with Training solutions.
- Identifies and suggests performance improvement solutions (i.e. process change, procedure need, training need, other barrier) including the scope of the solution to be used by the individual creating the content.
- Supervises team responsible for developing instructional content, including computer-based training, videos, tutorials, courseware, etc. including managing priorities, making assignments, providing feedback, and managing their development
- Ensures the successful development and execution of implementation plans, change management plans, and communication plans, with appropriate measures, to fully execute the performance issue correction.
- Evaluates solution effectiveness and resolves unexpected obstacles, breakdowns in solutions, or unplanned resistance.
- Facilitates meetings, feedback sessions, and organizational conversation about the design solution.
- Develops and recommends strategic approach for business unit specific program(s) and delivers implementation recommendations that support achievement of business goals and strategy.
- Evaluates and analyzes feedback and key metrics to measure the effectiveness of programs and processes in meeting business goals.
- May be assigned an Electric Utilities emergency and storm role. This is a special assignment that comes into play during storms and other emergencies when the company needs to restore power or respond to other issues affecting customer service.
- This role may necessitate the need to work after-hours, outside of your normal schedule.

In the case of remote work, physical presence in the office/on-site may be required to engage in face-to-face interaction and coordination of work among direct reports and co-workers.

Qualifications:
Required Education
- Bachelor's Degree preferably in education, instructional design, organizational development, or similar field of study. Formal military or other instructional design training may be considered.
- 5+ years experience of relevant experience, including designing curriculum, performing technical training, managing learning programs, facilitation, performance consulting, and/or project management.
- 2+ years of supervisory or project management experience (i.e., experience leading and influencing people)
- Ability to gather, analyze and interpret data used to measure results.
- Skilled facilitator of process mapping.
