Job Title: SVP / Chief Impact Officer

Why This Role Is Critical
This role guides strategic and outsized opportunities to improve literacy rates in the United States through Really Great Reading’s proven, beloved Science of Reading solutions and innovations. Building on RGR’s existing literacy outcomes track record, public trust, state adoption, and investments in innovation, the SVP of Impact will oversee expanding and sharing credible evidence, activating strategic and government relationships, and corporate development activities aligned with a disciplined strategy to build public engagement and improved learning outcomes nationally. This role owns RGR’s impact strategy, research credibility, government affairs posture, and national influence, and serves as a trusted spokesperson with senior leaders and the field.

Job Summary
The SVP / Chief Impact Officer builds and maintains RGR’s national impact framework.
This role leads impact research, government relations, M&A committee and integration,
and strategic partnerships that strengthen RGR’s credibility, adoption, funding access, and long-term influence.

Enterprise Performance Goals
• Expand RGR placement on state and federal evidence-based lists
• Increase funding-eligible district programs by 30%+
• Improve adoption conversion rates supported by research credibility by 20%+
• Increase policy-level partnerships and coalitions annually
• Reduce M&A integration time to evidence readiness by 40%+

Key Responsibilities
Impact Research & Evidence Strategy
• Design and maintain a national impact measurement framework
• Lead internal and external research initiatives validating outcomes
• Ensure evidence supports state adoption and funding pathways
Public Affairs & Government Relations
• Build and lead government relations and public affairs strategies
• Influence state and national policy, funding pathways, and procurement frameworks
Strategy Build, Maintain & M&A Integration
• Own impact strategy lifecycle management
• Lead impact integration for mergers and acquisitions
• Ensure acquired platforms meet RGR evidence and outcomes standards
Strategic Partnerships & National Coalitions
• Build national alliances with research institutions, agencies, and advocacy organizations
• Position RGR as a trusted literacy authority
Cross-Functional Integration
• Partner with Sales, Partnerships, Product, and Customer Success to align evidence with go-to-market and renewal strategies
Required Education / Experience / Skills
• 12+ years in impact research, education strategy, public affairs, or government relations
• Demonstrated leadership of national research initiatives and policy programs
• Experience managing M&A impact integration and strategic partnerships
• Strong executive presence and policy-level communication capability
• Deep understanding of K–12 education ecosystems and funding pathways

Preferred
• Advanced degree in education, public policy, or related field
• Experience leading federally or state-funded education initiatives

Physical Requirements
This is a remote role performed primarily in a home or flexible workspace using standard  technology tools. Team members regularly engage in computer-based work including video conferencing, document review, and digital collaboration.
