Job Summary
The Enterprise Application Services (EAS) team supports vendor and third-party enterprise applications and delivers sustainable, reliable services that enable campus partners to effectively carry out their missions through standardized, well-supported systems.

This position serves as a primary application support engineer for the Sunapsis International Student Admissions application, supporting the International Student and Scholars Organization (ISSO), while also contributing to the support of a portfolio of other EAS-maintained enterprise applications as assigned. The role is responsible for the administration, monitoring, maintenance, patching, upgrades, and operational support of assigned applications to ensure reliable, secure, and compliant service delivery.

In alignment with the EAS job family, this role works within ITIL-aligned Incident, Problem, and Change Management processes, participates in shared coverage and cross-training models, collaborates with peer engineers, vendors, and internal IT teams, and partners with application owners and departmental stakeholders to support business-critical systems across the institution.
Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of related experience or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.
Preferred Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience
  • Hands on experience supporting Sunapsis or similar higher educationadministrative systems
  • Experience supporting international admissions, immigration, or othercompliance driven applications
  • Experience working with APIs and JSON data exchange
  • Familiarity with IIS, ColdFusion, or similar application platforms
  • Experience supporting applications in public cloud environments (AWS,Azure, GCP)
  • Strong technical documentation and customer communication skills
  • Experience working within ITIL Incident, Problem, and Change Managementprocesses
  • Professional Certifications may be substituted for 6 months of experience
  • Experience supporting enterprise or vendor hosted applications
  • Linux & Windows Server Experience.
  • Scripting Experience (PowerShell, Bash, YAML, Python, etc).
  • Basic understanding of SQL queries, ODBC, and relational databases.
  • General networking and TCP/IP stack knowledge

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Expected areas of expertise and responsibility include the following:

  • Serve as the primary application support engineer for Sunapsis International Student Admissions, supporting ISSO staff and associated campus partners.
  • Administer, monitor, maintain, patch, and upgrade Sunapsis and itsdependent services in a hybrid cloud and on premise environment.
  • Administer, monitor, maintain, patch, and upgrade other EAS maintainedenterprise applications as assigned, following established standards, schedules, and change management processes.
  • Respond to, troubleshoot, and resolve application issues across assignedsystems, escalating to vendors or internal teams as appropriate.
  • Partner with application owners, functional users, and departmentalstakeholders for EAS supported applications (including but not limited toSunapsis) to understand business processes, gather requirements, andtranslate operational needs into effective technical solutions.
  • Coordinate with vendors and internal IT teams to support configurationchanges, issue resolution, integrations, and scheduled upgrades for EASmaintained applications.
  • Support integrations using APIs and JSON formatted data exchanges acrossassigned applications; assist with validation and troubleshooting of inboundand outbound data.
  • Document application configurations, support procedures, troubleshootingguides, and operational workflows for EAS supported systems to supportknowledge sharing and continuity of service.
  • Provide technical guidance, training, and communication to applicationowners and departmental stakeholders, including release awareness, changeimpacts, and operational best practices.
  • Participate in vulnerability assessment, remediation, and routine securitymaintenance activities.
  • Support automation and process improvements to increase applicationreliability, efficiency, and compliance.
  • Participate in second and third level support for assigned enterpriseapplications.
  • Participate in on call rotation to support system availability.
