TCOP Academic Fellow Full Description

Overview: 
The Academic Pharmacy Fellowship position at Touro College of Pharmacy in New York is a 12-month program designed to prepare the pharmacy professional interested in a career in academic pharmacy and seeking an experience in pharmacy education. The academic fellow will work with the fellowship director and faculty to gain experience teaching in various classroom settings, precepting APPE students, and coordinating courses.
 
In addition to participating in scholarships and academic research projects, the fellow will also obtain opportunities for clinical practice. The fellow will also work with various academic administration units to help design curricula and assess students. In the process, the fellow will obtain a teaching and leadership certificate. This is a limited term position. 

Responsibilities: 
The Academic Pharmacy Fellow will be responsible to meet goals and objectives of didactic and longitudinal experiences over the course of the academic year. These include academic learning experiences, research learning experiences, administration research experiences, clinical learning experiences, committee service, mentoring and advising, and professional development. Qualifications: 
  • Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy.
  • NYS pharmacist license by October of the fellowship year.
  • PGY1 or PGY1 + PGY2 residency preferred.
  • Applicants without a PGY1 residency will be considered based on their academic performance/experience.
 Maximum Salary: USD $57,000.00/Yr. Minimum Salary: USD $45,600.00/Yr.
