Join our teamâweâre hiring a Missouri-licensed Teacher of the Visually Impaired!
Weâre looking for a dedicated TVI to support students with visual impairments in accessing their education and building independence. This role combines direct instruction, collaboration, and thoughtful planning to help students succeed both in and out of the classroom.

What Youâll Do
- Provide direct instruction in specialized skills, including braille, orientation and mobility support, assistive technology, and compensatory strategies
- Adapt curriculum, instructional materials, and assessments to ensure accessibility for students with varying levels of vision
- Conduct functional vision and learning media assessments to guide instructional planning and accommodations
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and related service providers to support inclusive education and ensure appropriate accommodations
- Teach and reinforce daily living skills, self-advocacy, and independence to prepare students for postsecondary life
- Provide training and consultation to school staff, families, and peers on strategies to support students with visual impairments
- Participate in IEP and 504 meetings, including evaluation and placement processes when state school recommendations apply
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation of IEP goals, assessments, and compliance with regulations
- Support students in the use of low vision devices, screen readers, magnification tools, and other assistive technologies
- Collaborate with administrators, colleagues, and parents in a positive and productive manner
- Attend staff meetings and serve on staff committees as needed
What Youâll Need
- Active Missouri teaching certification in Blind/Partially Sighted (Bâ12)
- Experience supporting students with visual impairments
- Familiarity with IEP processes, school-based services, and related assessments
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Comfort using assistive and digital tools
