JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

The Department of Mathematics, in the Eberly College of Science, has a vacancy available for an undergraduate Teaching Assistant to act as a peer assistant for Math Lab (MATH 197) and to assist with grading and other aspects of course delivery during the Fall 2026 semester.

The selected candidate will work up to 5 hours per week as follows:

  • Assist students in peer instruction during class Tuesday 1:25-2:15 pm or Thursday 10:25-11:15 am 
  • Participate in weekly instructional team meetings 
  • Grade students' assignments and assist with course delivery in Canvas
  • Hold supplemental out-of-class student support hours

The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and an interest in recreational mathematics.  Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position has been filled.
