Please note that this is a contract role providing services to Microsoft through external staffing partners of Allegis Global Solutions. If you are selected for this role, you will be employed by AGS and will not be an employee of Microsoft.
Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled individual to join our team as a Technical Instructional Designer. In this role, you will be responsible for creating and refining technical materials that enhance internal employee experiences, particularly in the development of AI-focused tools. You will collaborate closely with designers, researchers, program managers, and product managers to gather requirements and translate them into clear, engaging content. Your expertise in writing UI content, shaping product voice and tone, and upholding UX writing standards will be essential in delivering high-quality documentation that meets the needs of our users.
Job Responsibilities:
- Organize material and complete writing assignments according to established standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology.
- Maintain records and files of work and revisions to ensure accuracy and accessibility.
- Confer with clients to establish technical specifications and determine subject material for publication.
- Write UI content that aligns with product voice and tone while auditing terminology for consistency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and provide insights on user experience design principles.
Requirements:
- 5-7 years of experience in technical writing or instructional design.
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, English, journalism, or communications.
- Proven experience in creating documentation for a technical audience.
- Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.
- Strong understanding of UX design principles and content strategy standards.
- Ability to read and interpret programming code.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Strategic thinking with a broader perspective on user experience.

- Pay Range: $50 - $57 per hour
- Weekly Schedule: 40 hours
