SUMMARY: The Technical Project Manager is a key member of the team at Tallo who is the bridge that connects agile product development to effective resourcing. This role is responsible for planning and managing projects which often require considerable resources and high levels of functional integration, and for supporting project operations analysis and reporting. This role ensures that the executive team can answer the question "what did we get from our investment?" across at least 5 agile development pods focused on a variety of outcomes for each audience they serve. This person will need to communicate with company executives and cross-functional stakeholders regarding the status of specific projects, resourcing needs, and opportunities for process improvement. Further, this person will help connect functional areas - like data - across organizational teams include marketing, product, and technology to advance organizational goals.

  • Project Planning & Management 
    • Develop and refine project plans that specify goals, strategy, staffing, scheduling, identification of risks, contingency plans, and allocation of available resources that align to Tallo's agile development processes.
    • Optimize processes, tools, metrics, and human capital to enable effective and efficient delivery of company projects;
    • Create and maintain detailed project plans, roadmaps, and schedules that enable stakeholders to understand ROI.
    • Translate agile work (epics, sprints, and outputs) into project charters and quarterly roadmap updates that executives and business stakeholders can understand.
    • Understand and design plans for stakeholder requirements, constraints, and assumptions in order to establish project deliverables aligned to product goals, using requirement-gathering techniques (e.g., planning sessions, brainstorming, focus groups).
    • Track progress and communicate if milestones are on track, at risk, or not started as planned. Ensure that outcomes based product goals can effectively translate to time-bound operational processes.
    • Adapt plans based on changes in priorities or technical constraints.
    • Monitor project budgets, report on variances, and ensure projects remain within financial constraints.
  • Team & Stakeholder Coordination
    • Serve as a clear communicator across all teams, translating development work into accessible language for non-technical audiences.
    • Maintain relationships with other departments and organizations by recognizing dependencies in order to assess potential partnership and commitment to the project.
    • Prepare and present statements of work and proposals for vendors and potential customers in conjunction with technology management and Corporate Development.
    • Assist with Quarterly Roadmap Reviews by consolidating inputs from product managers and ensuring alignment with organizational priorities.
  • Technical Oversight & Understanding 
    • Understand technical requirements, architecture, and trade-offs to make informed project decisions.
    • Translate complex technical details into business-friendly updates for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Process Improvement & Reporting 
    • Measure project performance by identifying and quantifying any variances, performing any required corrective actions, and communicating to all stakeholders
    • Identify bottlenecks and implement process improvements.
    • Make recommendations to product partners to improve processes, reporting or tools.
    • Reinforce Agile principles and support teams in applying best practices.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities.

Evidence of Mastery through the following skills:  
  • Typically, individuals who have around 5 years of project management experience, including at least 2 years in a technical or software development-focused role, demonstrate the following skills:
    • Project Organization & Prioritization - Manage multiple projects, deadlines, and shifting priorities while keeping work structured and on track.
    • Strategic Communication - Translate technical details into clear updates for executives and cross-functional stakeholders.
    • Agile & Tools Proficiency - Apply agile principles effectively and use project management and data tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Heap) to support collaboration.
    • Financial & Resource Awareness - Understand budgets, resource allocation, and how to connect investment to outcomes.
    • Technical Fluency & Continuous Improvement - Demonstrate understanding of software development processes to inform decisions and identify opportunities to improve efficiency.

OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project; Smartsheet, JIRA, Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) and general Web proficiency; PPM tool(s)
  • Ability to clear the required background check

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Extensive experience in technology-based product development initiatives
  • Previous success working with multiple concurrent Agile software development teams (especially Scrum and/or Kanban)

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: Stride, Inc. considers a person's education, experience, and qualifications, as well as the position's work location, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value when determining a new employee's salary level.  Salaries will differ based on these factors, the position's level and expected contribution, and the employee's benefits elections.  Offers will typically be in the bottom half of the range. 
We anticipate the salary range to be $91,302.00 - $146,083.20.  Eligible employees may receive a bonus.  This salary is not guaranteed, as an individual's compensation can vary based on several factors.  These factors include, but are not limited to, geographic location, experience, training, education, and local market conditions. Stride offers a robust benefits package for eligible employees that can include health benefits, retirement contributions, and paid time off.
