KIPP has a 25-year track record of preparing students for success in college and life. Founded in 2018, KIPP Miami operates three nonprofit charter schools in Greater Miami’s Urban Core communities. Currently, KIPP Miami educates students in grades K-4 at KIPP Royalty Academy and middle school students KIPP Courage Academy with plans to open another elementary, middle and high school next year. Job Description
Here’s what you need to know:
The Technology Specialist provides user assistance and support on various software, hardware, network, and IT-related requests at our schools. This position aims to provide an optimal teaching and learning environment for our teachers, students, and staff every day. The Technology Specialist collaborates with other team members on IT projects, providing growth opportunities in various technology areas.

Here’s what you'll be doing:
  • Resolve requests for technical support, prioritizing as necessary when specific priorities are not provided
  • Efficiently troubleshoot issues and escalate as needed
  • Document, track, and monitor all problem/resolution activity to ensure a timely resolution and great communication
  • Set up, maintain, and account for PC/Mac/Chrome computers
  • Set up, maintain, and account for HP printers and Ricoh copiers
  • Support/manage new computer setup, including imaging
  • Support document cameras, interactive whiteboards, and other classroom technology
  • Install and configure software applications (Office 365 Pro Plus, Acrobat, etc.)
  • Support technology-related campus projects
  • Assist in training faculty and staff on systems and applications as needed
  • Coordinate third-party hardware warranty repairs
  • Support and deploy student computers
  • Perform Tier 1 support of network appliances, including servers, switches, and wireless access points
  • Perform Tier 1 support of networking software and protocols such as VPN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and Active Directory
  • Part of a rotation to provide 24x7 On Call Support (one week every 2 months)

Qualifications
Must Haves:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Education, or a related field, or equivalent professional background.  
  • Experience supporting classroom technologies and multi-device environments in a K–12 environment strongly preferred.
  • Strong technical proficiency in Windows operating systems, ChromeOS, networking fundamentals, wireless infrastructure, and endpoint management
  • Familiarity with IT service desk tools, such as Zendesk.  
  • Experience supporting multi-site organizations, ideally within the education sector.
  • Must be able to travel between sites within the city limits.

Additional Information
The starting salary for this role is $55,000. Salary ranges at KIPP are set based upon the role level and function using benchmarks in the education and non-profit sector and allow for growth within the role.  Individual compensation will be set  based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to: relevant professional experience and qualifications; education, skills and training; and market conditions.
