Highlights

Assist researchers in using NC State HPC systems and external computing resources.
Build and maintain bioinformatics databases and pipelines for large-scale genomics data.
Develop training materials and mentor graduate students and postdocs in Unix, Python, shell scripting, and HPC.
Maintain scientific software; develop and manage containers with Docker and Apptainer.
Support data visualization and interactive web applications using tools like Shiny.
Require knowledge of Shell, Python, and/or R; experience with job schedulers (SLURM, LSF), Linux administration, and containerization.
Preferred qualifications include a Master’s or PhD in Computational Biology/Bioinformatics, 3+ years relevant experience, GPU computing, Github, and workflow languages such as Nextflow.
Work closely with the Bioinformatics Research Center and other campus scientific computing initiatives.
Offers $40.00 per hour compensation; temporary position within the COS IT department.
Requires post-baccalaureate credentials or equivalent combination of training and experience.
