Temporary Research Professional for College of Arts and Sciences Full Description

This is a pool from which the College of Arts and Sciences will draw when research professionals are needed to work on sponsored projects. This temporary position may be part- or full-time. Qualified applicants for this position will be placed into a hiring pool, from which research professionals will be hired. Acceptance into the hiring pool does not constitute an offer of a contract.

Knowledge of research methods and analytical procedures. Ability to use computerized tools to organize and analyze information and communicate findings. Knowledge of standard reporting procedures. Skilled in accurate data collection methods.

Varies according to project requirements and level of position to be filled:
Research Professional 1: Six months' experience in relevant field, or acceptable combination of education and experience.
Research Professional 2: One year's experience in relevant field, or acceptable combination of education and experience.
Research Professional 3: Two years' postgraduate level experience in relevant field, or acceptable combination of education and experience.
Research Professional 4: Four years' postgraduate level experience in relevant field, or acceptable combination of education and experience.
Research Professional 5: Four years' postgraduate level experience in relevant field, or acceptable combination of education and experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

Research Professional 1: Bachelor's degree and six months' experience in a field relevant to the research (e.g. science, math, business), or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Research Professional 2: Bachelor's degree and one year's experience in a field relevant to the research (e.g. science, math, business), or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Research Professional 3: Master's degree and two years' postgraduate level experience in a field relevant to the research (e.g. science, math, business), or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Research Professional 4: Master's degree and four years' experience at postgraduate level in a field relevant to the research (e.g. science, math, business), or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Research Professional 5: PhD and four years' postgraduate level experience in a field relevant to the research (e.g. science, math, business), or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Position Details:
This position is located on the University of Alaska Anchorage Campus in Anchorage, Alaska. This is a part-time or full-time, non-exempt temporary position. New hires will be placed on the Temporary Salary Table and the Grade is determined based on education and experience.
