Job Description  | Tutors meet in face-to-face sessions in the Stevenson Educational Center with assigned student-athletes to assist them in developing academic strategies and skills. Tutors assist with curriculum-based content while instructional assistants assist with goal development, both short-term and long-term, as well as organization, time management, note taking, test preparation, critical thinking, and more. Sessions will be scheduled weekly and will continue through the entire semester.

All sessions are typically 1-2 hours in length.
Education and Experience  | Bachelor’s degree required.

Skills and Knowledge  | Tutors must have a demonstrated ability to tutor the specific subject area. Exhibit effective verbal and written communication skills. Present themselves as an appropriate academic role model for student-athletes. Maintain the highest level of academic integrity. Have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a variety of individuals. Demonstrate an ability to develop professional relationships with student-athletes. Maintain confidentiality at all times and adhere to specific standards of ethical conduct.
Responsibilities  | Tutors must check e-mail regularly and actively use their Teamworks account to submit reports, view their calendar, and update availability. Information about cancellations, rescheduled appointments, and mandatory trainings will be communicated through e-mail. Tutors are expected to participate in mandatory meetings and training sessions. If the times offered conflict with your schedule, in some cases, arrangements may be made with the tutor coordinator. Individuals must attend training sessions before they can begin receiving tutor assignments.
