This Title 1 funded position is responsible for overseeing and enhancing student attendance and retention efforts within our online K–12 program. This role is pivotal in ensuring students maintain consistent engagement and attendance, thereby supporting their academic success and overall student well-being. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:   Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties.
  • Daily Attendance Monitoring: Utilize student information systems to track and report daily attendance, ensuring accuracy and compliance with state and federal regulations. 
  • Outreach and Intervention: Initiate timely communication with students and families regarding attendance concerns through emails, phone calls, and automated notifications.  
  • Tiered Support Implementation: Develop and implement tiered intervention strategies for students exhibiting attendance issues, collaborating with teachers, counselors, and other support staff to address underlying barriers. 
  • Truancy Management: For escalated attendance concerns, coordinate truancy meetings involving students, families, and support personnel to develop action plans and ensure adherence to state laws.  
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze attendance data to identify trends and areas for improvement. Prepare and present regular reports to school leadership, ensuring transparency and informed decision-making. Add pertinent pieces to Title 1 Dashboard. 
  • Policy Compliance: Ensure all attendance practices align with Stride K12 policies and state regulations, including proper documentation and reporting. 
  • Training and Development: Provide training to staff on attendance policies, intervention strategies, and best practices to foster a supportive school culture.  
  • Work closely with the Student Support Team, including campus teams, counselors, parent ambassadors, and Aspire student engagement specialists to provide holistic support to students and families

Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises 1-3 Full-time Equivalent (FTE) regular employees and/or contractors.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:   
  • One year of experience in truancy, attendance management, or a related field
  • Familiarity with state school attendance laws in online learning environments
  • Strong data analysis, communication and program management skills
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint; general Web proficiency. 
  • Ability to travel 20% of the time
  • Ability to clear required background check

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  
  • Post-secondary degree in Education, Counseling, Human Services, or specialized related training
  • 3+ years working with families in a similar capacity such as enrollment or truancy
  • Experience in an online education environment
  • Customer service and/or marketing experience
