The School Director works with the Executive Director as a “second in command” to help oversee and support the success of the school through emphasis on business operations, and fiscal and academic performance.  The role has shared accountability for specific identified areas including some or all of the following:  processes; logistics; training; counseling; College, Career and Military Readiness (CCMR) accountability; and Career Readiness Education (CRE)/industry-based certifications.

This is a full-time REMOTE position. Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week is required. Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during workday, typically 8am-5pm central time. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:   Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties.
  • Demonstrates understanding of and supports school and Stride’s mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and the code of ethical behavior; 
  • Helps oversee the attainment of high levels of student achievement at the school; Assists in refining the education design to improve student achievement; 
  • Helps Executive Director (ED) manage and develop school leaders in their roles;  
  • Helps oversee and support all staff within the school to ensure high quality implementation of school and Stride curriculum plans, process and policies, instructional guidelines, and operational efficiencies; 
  • Supports ED in effective and efficient budget management; 
  • Helps determine priorities for the school (e.g. Operations, Finance, Technology, Special Education, etc.) and manages the team to achieve deliverables; 
  • Works closely with K12 staff to improve the systems and processes that serve the school; 
  • Works closely with ED on establishing strong relationships with school boards and school partners; 
  • Assists with professional development, appraisal, and disciplinary activities in accordance with company policy consulting with Human Resources as appropriate. 

Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises 2-5 Full-time Equivalent (FTE) regular employees and/or contractors.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:   
  • Ten (10) years of related professional experience AND 
  • Five (5) years of leadership. 
  • Demonstrated leadership, management, interpersonal relations and communication skills. 
  • Proven business experience and acumen. 
  • Owner of a line of business or school budget. 
  • Experience building a leadership team of top talent and creating an environment that supports active listening and willingness to share different viewpoints. 
  • Successful creation of strategic partnerships that enable business growth. 
  • MS 365; Web proficiency.  
  • Ability to travel 25% of the time. 
  • Ability to clear required background check. 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  
  • Experience leading a remote team 
  • Master’s degree or MBA
