Job Summary:

As the Training and Development Specialist at Iron Valley Supply, you will help plan, design, and implement programs to improve individual and organizational   performance. This position will report to the Human Resources Manager.  

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with HR and department managers to identify learning and development needs and training priorities
  • Design, develop, and implement various training programs to ensure employees have the knowledge, skills, and resources to perform their jobs effectively  
  • Coordinate training logistics including scheduling, materials, and resources
  • Facilitate structured training sessions and workshops, providing guidance and support to participants to ensure a positive and interactive learning experience
  • Manage and administer learning management systems (LMS)
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning and development throughout the company
  • Monitor and evaluate training delivery and effectiveness, making adjustments to improve outcomes when needed
  • Remain current with safety, health, and HR training requirements
  • Ensure compliance related training is assigned, completed, and properly documented
  • Stay up to date on best practices and emerging technologies in learning and development
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Desired Qualifications/Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Human Resources, Instructional Design, or related field 
  • Minimum 2 years of proven experience as a learning specialist, training coordinator, or similar role in corporate training and development preferred
  • Knowledge training methodologies; familiarity with competency-based training and performance management
  • Experience with learning management systems and multimedia tools for content creation
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage and motivate learners
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively and establish credibility with diverse groups of people
  • Strong organizational skills
  • General knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift 10 pounds occasionally
  • Must be able to travel as needed
