Position Summary: The Training Development Specialist will design, develop, and perform training that enhance employee skills and knowledge. This role involves collaborating with subject matter experts, assessing training needs, and delivering engaging learning solutions to support organizational goals.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Training Program Development
- Design, develop, and update training materials, including e-learning modules, presentations, manuals, and job aids, working with Subject Matter Experts (SME) to stay abreast of application and industry updates.
- Ensure training content aligns with business objectives and industry best practices.
- Incorporate adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
Internal Digital Aids
- Develop and maintain internal website support pages for helping members quickly and efficiently.
- Develop and maintain internal website support pages for education, including building and improving job skills.
- Design and implement courses within the learning management system.
- Create and acquire training procedure manuals, guides and course materials and make available to authorized employees.
Training Delivery & Facilitation
- Facilitates delivery of training by subject matter experts; scheduling training times with attendees and preparing and distributing training aids.
- Conduct in-person and virtual training sessions for employees at various levels.
- Utilize interactive techniques to enhance learner engagement and retention.
- Assess training effectiveness and make improvements based on feedback.
Needs Assessment & Evaluation
- Conduct training needs assessments through surveys, interviews, and data analysis.
- Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness using feedback and performance metrics.
- Update training programs based on changes in policies, technologies, or business needs.
Collaboration & Support
- Partner with department heads, HR, and leadership to align training with organizational goals.
- Support onboarding programs for new employees.
- Maintain training records and ensure compliance with regulatory training requirements.
- Serve as back up to Training Coordinator and Senior Training Development Specialist.
Miscellaneous
- Advocate and demonstrate company brand.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in education or human resources or related field.
- Year experience in training development or similar role.
- Two years’ experience in the financial services industry.
- Proficiency in Learning Management Systems (LMS) and e-learning tools.
- Familiarity with multimedia tools for content creation.
- Excellent presentation, facilitation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Knowledge of compliance and regulatory training requirements preferred.
- Acceptable background check; credit, criminal and insurance
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements:
This position requires the employee to work indoors in a typical office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations, and the ability to stand, walk stoop, kneel, crouch and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 1-25 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application information. The employee frequently is required to sit, reach with arms, talk and hear.

Hours: Monday - Friday 8:45-5:15 pm
