PURPOSE:
The Training & Development Specialist is responsible for designing, implementing, and continuously improving the company’s training and development programs to support employee growth, technical excellence, and career progression. This role partners closely with line of business leaders and technical teams to identify learning needs, manage compliance and certification programs, and foster a culture of continuous learning within the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assess training and development needs through surveys, interviews, focus groups, and collaboration with managers and subject matter experts.
  • Design, organize, and deliver onboarding, orientation, compliance, and skills-based training for employees across all departments.
  • Develop training materials, manuals, and course content tailored to technical and professional development needs.
  • Partner with line of business leaders to identify skill gaps, certification requirements, and learning priorities aligned with business goals.
  • Manage and track certification programs, providing employees with access to learning platforms and maintaining accurate records of completions and related incentives.
  • Develop and maintain career path frameworks to guide employee growth and progression within the organization.
  • Lead train-the-trainer sessions to prepare internal subject matter experts for effective content delivery.
  • Plan and host Lunch & Learn sessions, workshops, and knowledge-sharing events to promote continuous learning.
  • Manage relationships with vendors and external training providers, including negotiating partnerships and ensuring training relevance and quality.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through assessments, feedback, and performance outcomes; recommend improvements as needed.
  • Maintain training records, attendance data, and progress metrics; prepare reports on training outcomes and participation.
  • Manage the training budget and ensure cost-effective use of resources.
  • Stay current on industry trends and best practices in learning, development, and certification for IT and MSP environments.
  • Other Responsibilities as assigned by management

MINIMUM SKILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • 3+ years of experience in training and development, preferably within an IT, MSP, or technical services organization.
  • Proven ability to design and deliver engaging in-person and virtual training.
  • Working knowledge of AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot, learning analytics platforms) to improve learning efficiency and engagement.
  • Strong project management, facilitation, and communication skills.
  • Experience using LMS systems and eLearning tools.
  • Familiarity with compliance training and technical certification programs (e.g., CompTIA, Microsoft, AWS).

PREFERRED SKILLS, EDUCATION OR EXPERIENCE
  • Experience developing technical or professional career paths.
  • Prior experience collaborating with technical teams to create learning solutions.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and blended learning strategies.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must be able to sit, stand, and bend for the duration of shift. The position is mainly sitting, with occasional lifting up to 50 lbs, such as laptop, server equipment, and, driving to the work site to meet with client(s).

Salary Expectations: Starting at $70,000

The salary for this position is commensurate with experience, skills, and qualifications. The range is intended to reflect our commitment to attracting top talent, and the final offer will be based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's previous experience, expertise in the field, relevant certifications, and the specific requirements of the role. In addition, internal equity, market trends, and geographic location may also influence the final salary.
