Position Summary
Working closely with clients and Coleridge collaborators, this individual leads the development and delivery of Coleridge’s Applied Data Analytics training programs portfolio, designed to build data literacy and technical skills among state, federal, academic, and policy-focused researchers and practitioners at all levels.
Program content and design, generally, addresses skills development in modern data science tools and provides hands-on experience with micro-level data hosted in Coleridge Initiative's secure cloud-based computing platform, the
Administrative Data Research Facility.
Success in this position requires a strategic approach to training program development in line with the organization’s goals; ability to partner with stakeholders for inputs at critical decisionmaking points; and ability to create credible action plans and effectively manage available resources to meet planned objectives.
Essential Job Functions
- Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships to enhance and expand training offerings.
- Develop new training programs aligned with emerging needs and opportunities.
- Explore and assess new markets for potential training expansion.
- Design, plan, implement training programs and workshops to meet identified client needs and audiences.
- Collaborate with research staff and clients to assess ongoing and future training needs.
- Monitor the effectiveness of training on participants’ data analytical skills.
- Develop metrics to evaluate program effectiveness and inform refinements.
- Provide engaging communications about program information to encourage participation and highlight the value and benefits of the training.
- Provide input to strategic goal setting and decisions, and budget planning.
- Assist with internal training initiatives as needed.
Qualifications and core competencies
10+ years of progressive work experience plus Bachelor’s degree or higher resulting in broad knowledge of principles, practices, and functions of effective training and training program administration – and demonstrated ability to:
- Operationalize strategic goals and priorities.
- Develop and recommend program solutions.
- Apply a systems-thinking perspective when making program decisions.
- Design and conduct needs analysis and program evaluation.
- Design and deliver effective training (in-person and virtually).
- Design and produce effective training materials.
- Administer training programs.
- Leverage training to support organizational development.
- Evaluate and implement training systems and process improvements.
- Experience developing and delivering successful training on data analytics approaches for participants at varying levels of technical proficiency.
- Experience with administrative or large-scale data systems, preferred.
- Experience with project-based and adult learning approaches.
Plus ability to navigate and manage competing priorities, and leverage technology as appropriate, including learning management systems.
