Addison Group is partnering with a well-established utility provider in the Carolinas seeking an experienced Training Manager to spearhead their internal training and workforce development efforts. This is a high-impact role offering the opportunity to lead strategic talent initiatives across a dynamic and mission-driven organization.

Job Description:
We are looking for a dedicated and strategic Training Manager to build and lead comprehensive training programs across the organization. This role will assess internal learning needs, create customized development plans, and work collaboratively across departments to promote professional growth, improve performance, and ensure readiness for future organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement forward-thinking training initiatives to improve workforce capabilities and employee engagement
  • Evaluate current skill levels and identify development opportunities to support short- and long-term business needs
  • Conduct thorough training needs assessments to guide curriculum development
  • Analyze individual and team performance to create targeted development plans
  • Partner with department leaders to align training programs with company strategy
  • Develop career progression frameworks and succession planning strategies
  • Deliver a blend of virtual and in-person training sessions using interactive materials
  • Collaborate with HR, IT, Safety, and Operations to unify training objectives and resources
  • Measure training effectiveness using performance data and post-training assessments
  • Manage training budgets, resources, and vendor relationships to ensure cost-effective solutions
  • Maintain up-to-date training compliance with all industry and legal requirements

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Instructional Design, or a related field
  • 7–10+ years of experience in corporate training, learning design, or workforce development
  • Strong background in conducting needs assessments to identify learning gaps and priorities
  • Strong understanding of adult learning theory and instructional methodologies
  • Experience using performance data to guide program strategy and effectiveness
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills to engage a wide range of learners
  • Proven ability to manage complex training projects from concept to execution
  • Familiarity with workforce needs in high-demand sectors or regulated environments
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments
  • HRCI or SHRM certification highly desirable
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Additional Details:
  • Hybrid role with periodic in-office attendance required
  • Standard hours: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., with some flexibility as needed
  • Must live within 40 miles of a regional office or within the service region (Statesville, Cornelius, Lexington, Madison, Taylorsville).
  • Valid NC driver’s license and clean driving record required
