Training Specialist

Overview
Develops and delivers training programs on a variety of topics, including but not limited to product knowledge, software applications, and sales, to optimize sales agent performance.

Core Responsibilities
  • Collaborates with subject matter experts on developing training materials, including manuals, PowerPoint presentations, job aids, checklists, and other educational materials.
  • Coordinates scheduling and preparation of training sessions.
  • Organizes and conducts webinars and online office hours to address inquiries from sales agents.
  • Delivers training programs in person and remotely using a variety of instructional methods, such as role playing, simulations, team exercises, group discussions, videos, and lectures.
  • Evaluates customer service surveys and similar feedback to address sales agent training needs.
  • Collaborates with subject-matter experts to develop, improve, and document the work procedures that are used in conjunction with training programs. Ensures procedures are accessible and accurate, and that changes are documented and communicated to the appropriate staff in a timely manner.
  • Designs learner assessments and conducts routine observations of sales agents during training periods. Reports learner progress to supervisors and management. Creates and implements development plans to address sales agent performance issues when applicable.
  • Conducts ongoing evaluation of training programs through surveys to determine effectiveness as measured against stated objectives. Makes recommendations for change when evaluation indicates the need for improvement.
  • Travels to all sales conferences and training events and occasionally to sales offices across North America to facilitate training sessions.

Required:

Education
Required:
  • Life insurance license
  • 3+ years of experience in sales with the life insurance industry

Compensation
The wage range for this role takes into account a broad array of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to: skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.  The range below applies as long as the work is performed in Connecticut; the Knights of Columbus reserves the right to adjust the wage range if the position is performed in another location.  At the Knights of Columbus, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $69,600 - 115,000.
