A day in the life.  

As our Training Specialist on the Learning & Development team, you’ll support the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring they feel welcomed and are set up for success from day one. This role involves close collaboration with managers to understand the specific onboarding needs of their new hires and to create and coordinate comprehensive schedules for the first weeks of onboarding. The Training Specialist will play a crucial role in providing a seamless and engaging onboarding experience while supporting managers to ensure that all new hires are adequately prepared for their job roles. Additionally, to being the onboarding ambassador to our new hires, the Training Specialist will always be looking for ways to improve processes and enhance the onboarding experience while also supporting other training initiatives across the organization. 

Your main responsibilities will include: 

  • Collaborate with managers to identify and understand the onboarding needs of new hires. 

  • Develop and coordinate detailed onboarding schedules for the first weeks, ensuring all elements of the onboarding process are addressed. 

  • Ensure that new hires are properly set up with the necessary tools, resources, and information before transitioning into their job roles. 

  • Provide initial training on Agency Systems such as Sagitta, ImageRight, Benefitpoint ensuring new hires have a high-level understanding of the systems before moving to their roles. 

  • Assist with the administration of MMAU, supporting the scheduling and management of region wide learning initiatives. 

  • Support the L&D team in managing and scheduling learning programs across the region, ensuring that all training sessions are effectively organized and communicated. 

  • Support training programs such as AMPD, PITs and Interns with scheduling and logistics  

  • ·Gather feedback from new hires and managers to continuously improve the onboarding experience and training programs. 

  • Collaborate with the L&D team to identify opportunities for enhancing training materials and onboarding processes.

We’d love to meet you if your professional track record includes these skills: 

  • College degree in related field and 2+ years insurance experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience). 

  • Effective verbal and written communication and organizational skills. 

  • Excellent people skills including ability to coach others and interact in a positive and patient manner. 

  • Experience with automated insurance products and third-party software applications including: Sagitta, ImageRight, Benefit Point, ReferenceConnect and Microsoft Office Suite. 

  • Effective group presentation and facilitation skills. 

  • Demonstrate high comfort level in the use of technology and quickly learn new software. 

  • Able to travel periodically to all office locations.
