Who Is AdvisorEngine:
We believe that the future of financial advice is personal, scientific and beautiful – these three ideals drive everything that we do.
AdvisorEngine is a leading wealth management fintech platform that creates a unified experience across financial advisors, investors, and business management personnel. Our wealth management platform enables financial advisors to deliver an engaging, personalized client experience and to operate at scale through smart automation.
Our team is made up of designers, enterprise technologists, data scientists, futurists, and business builders. We are based in NYC and Raleigh, NC. If you love data and are driven to create the future of financial advice, we’d love to hear from you.
About the Role
We’re looking for a Wealth Operations Training Consultant who can bridge the worlds of financial advisory workflows, portfolio management operations and modern SaaS onboarding. This role is a key part of our client onboarding experience—working alongside our Configuration Specialists and Onboarding Project Managers to ensure firms transition smoothly from their current tech stack to our platform.
This is not a pure “trainer” role. It’s a consultative, client-facing SME role for someone who understands how RIAs actually run: trading, billing, performance reporting, custodial nuances, model management and the day-to-day workflows that keep advisory businesses moving.
You’ll uncover how clients used their old systems, advise them on how to adapt those workflows within our platform, train their teams, and surface gaps, risks, or unrealistic expectations early. You’ll also help internal teams understand complex client needs and you’ll be a voice of reason—making sure we pursue the best solutions for our clients.
If you enjoy the mix of teaching, translating, advising, and challenging clients — this is the spot.
What You'll Do
Client Consulting & Workflow Transition (35%)
- Assess how advisory firms currently manage trading, billing, reporting, model management, rebalancing, and other ops workflows.
- Translate their current-state processes into best-fit workflows in our platform, clearly outlining where the system aligns, where it differs and what adjustments will be required.
- Identify potential risks, overlooked details, or unrealistic expectations early in the onboarding process.
- Advise clients on wealth-ops best practices within the limits of our software—helping them make informed decisions, not promises the tech can’t keep.
- Communicate recommendations in the client’s language (advisor, operations, trader, or firm principal).
Training & Education Delivery (25%)
- Deliver engaging, high-quality training sessions for clients—virtual and onsite—tailored to the workflows, role types, and complexity of each firm.
- Build custom training plans that support full adoption of CRM and portfolio management features.
- Deliver advanced education on trading workflows, billing structures, and operational processes as implemented on our platform.
- Support internal employee onboarding and skills development to elevate team readiness.
Cross-Functional Collaboration (20%)
- Partner with Configuration Specialists to ensure client workflows are understood and aligned during the technical setup.
- Work with Onboarding PMs to maintain smooth project flow, anticipate training needs, and support client accountability.
- Collaborate with Product and QA by providing workflow-level feedback, validating new features, and raising usability concerns
- Participate in release-readiness activities and represent the “voice of the user” for training needs.
Training Content & Asset Development (20%)
- Create training materials, job aids, demonstrations, workflow maps, and best-practice guides.
- Update curricula in collaboration with Product and Training leadership as new features are released or processes evolve.
- Contribute to scalable, repeatable client education programs, including webinars and self-guided learning modules.
Internal Expertise & Enablement (10%)
- Serve as a subject-matter resource for CS, Support, Sales, and Product teams.
- Provide informal coaching on trading concepts, billing nuances, custodial processes, and workflow best practices.
- Help reduce post-go-live “how do I…?” tickets by preparing clients and internal teams with accurate and consistent guidance.
Who You Are
You thrive in environments where every day involves a mix of training, problem-solving, advisory work, and translating complex operational processes into clear, teachable workflows. You enjoy the technical side of wealth management operations but don’t want to sit behind a trading desk anymore.
You’re confident enough to challenge a client’s workflow—but grounded enough to do it respectfully and with firm rationale.
