Job Description 
Central Virginia Community College is located in Lynchburg, Virginia, in view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. CVCC is a comprehensive two-year institution of higher education with an enrollment of approximately 5,000 students in occupational/technical programs and university-parallel/college transfer programs.

Central Virginia Community College (CVCC) is seeking an experienced and
energetic individual to provide enrollment and advisement services with the goal
of improving student success as a member of a strong academic advising
department.

This individual will be expected to secure a comprehensive knowledge of CVCC
policy, practices, course offerings, and services with the primary responsibility of
advising and enrolling students. This individual will monitor students’ academic
progress and manage a caseload of advisees. The transfer advisor works closely
with the academic divisions, faculty, and other student services personnel to
respond effectively to students’ needs, to intervene in matters relative to the
curriculum determinations and changes. The transfer advisor will keep abreast of
changes in transfer information for students as well as maintain the college’s
transfer website, updating links to transfer information at other
colleges/universities as needed.

Special Assignments  | May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.

KSA's/Required Qualifications  | Education, training, and experience in a higher education setting. Ability to use
Microsoft Office. Experience providing services to a diverse population. . Experience that exhibits strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks in a stressful environment.

Additional Considerations  | Experience advising students in a higher education setting.
